Sutton Tools Reduced Shank Drills
are meticulously crafted to enhance the drilling capacity of standard drill chucks. Each drill features a 6″ (152mm) overall length with a 3-3/8″ (86mm) flute length, making them ideal for large-scale boring at slow speeds (350 RPM or less). The reduced shanks are specifically designed to fit 13mm drill chucks, ensuring compatibility and ease of use.
Constructed from M2 High Speed Steel (HSS), these drills offer an optimal balance of strength, heat resistance, and wear resistance. The blue surface finish is particularly suited for ferrous applications, with a steam oxide finish that prevents chip build-up on the cutting edges and reduces cutting friction, especially in low carbon steels. The 118° standard point is perfect for general-purpose applications.
