with an American pattern is designed to help you achieve precise sharpening. To begin, place the file against the bevelled cutting surface of the teeth at an angle between 20° to 45° with the saw. File from the inside to the outside of the cutter for the best results. Ensure you sharpen all left-hand cutters on one side of the chain before moving to the other side to file all the right-hand cutters.
It is crucial to check the height between the cutting teeth and the depth gauge, which should be between .020″ to .030″ (5.4mm to 7.6mm). This should be done every 2 or 3 sharpenings. Tighten the tension on the chain to firmly support the cutters when filing. Always follow the manufacturer’s specifications for safe usage to ensure the longevity and efficiency of your chainsaw.
